MAXXIS Highroller II Camera d'Aria
The Maxxis High Roller 2 is a product of downhill evolution. After over ten years of world cup domination, Maxxis has taken what is arguably the most popular DH tire ever and re-engineered it. Copious rider feedback was used in updating the tread pattern for the High Roller 2 and the result is a tire that highlights the best qualities of it's lineage while improving performance in less developed areas. The tread pattern will look familiar to fans of the original High Roller; a raised center tread that incorporates breaking ramps and lends the tire its phenomenal straight-line performance has been sliced in half and rotated to provide better mud clearance and less rolling resistance. Transitional lugs are now more angled and closer to the edge of the tire to provide a more gradual transition between center and cornering knobs. Outer cornering tread has become siped and angled to provide quicker turn-in and eliminate understeer. Plus you get a 3C casing that uses hard compound rubber for a stiff sidewall, more tacky rubber on the cornering knobs and moderate, slower wearing rubber that rolls faster on the center knobs. One-upping a tire like the High-roller is a tall order, but Maxxis has succeeded with the HR2. After spending a day on the new rubber at Canada's famous Whistler Mountain Bike Park we are happy to report that this thing RIPS The new pattern is even more versatile than the original and offered glue-like traction in mixed conditions, shedding mud exceptionally. The HR2 can still pull off lightning-fast changes in direction read: drifts like the original, but the improved transitional knobs make Etrto: 61-584
